2013 Guest Speakers
Dates & Topics TBA !
  Joker Phillips, Kentucky    TOPIC: "TBD"
A native Kentuckian and former Wildcat player, Coach Phillips is only the fifth Kentucky alumnus to become head coach of the Wildcats. Taking over in 2010, Phillips’ first act as head coach was to imprint his personal philosophy, “Operation Win,” on the team – win in the classroom, win in the community and win on the field. Phillips’ energy has led to some positive results in recruiting and on the field, where Coach Phillips became the first coach in Kentucky history to take a team to a bowl game in his first season. His teams also have broken long-time streaks with wins over South Carolina and Tennessee. In addition to his coaching, Phillips also is a highly effective recruiter, as his straightforward, likeable personality earns the trust and respect of his players and their families.
  Paul Pasqualoni, UCONN,
TOPIC: "Defeating Run Block Progression - Pass Rush Progression"
Coach Pasqualoni returns to the college ranks after six year tenure in the National Football League with the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins. During his first year of returning to his home state of Connecticut, a total of nice Husky players were named ALL-BIG EAST Conference. Pasqualoni is the BIG EAST career leader in both overall coaching wins (112) and conference coaching wins (65). He broke the overall coaching wins record last year at Connecticut passing Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer. Prior to heading to the N.F.L., Pasqualoni served as the head coach of Syracuse from 1991-2004 and led the Orange to nine bowl games and was the head coach at Western Connecticut from 1982-85 and led them to an NCAA Division.
  Jon Embree, Colorado,
TOPIC: "Tight End Progression - Run Game/Pass Game"
Jon Embree is currently in his second year as head football coach at the University of Colorado. He was named the school’s 24th full-time head football coach in program history, returning home to the state where he starred as a player in both high school and college as well as where he got his start in coaching. Though this is his first head coaching position on any level, he brings 18 years 18 years of coaching experience to the CU program. Embree has been under some the finest tutelage in the college ranks such as Bill McCartney, Rick Neuheisel and Gary Barnett. His first Buffalo team posted a 3-9 record, but had its moments, none bigger than the season finale when a 17-14 win at Utah snapped the longest road losing streak in program history, his first win against rival Colorado State and a 48-29 victory over Arizona.
  Bob Davie, New Mexico,
TOPIC: "The Lobo's Defense"
Coach Davie became New Mexico’s 31st football head coach in November 2011. Prior to being named the Lobos head coach, Davie was a college football analyst on television since 2002. He has served as the lead analyst on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 for Saturday Night Primetime games. Prior to that, Davie served as head football coach at the University of Notre Dame for five of the eight years with the Fighting Irish. Coach Davie was also an assistant coach at Texas A&M, Tulane, Arizona and the University of Pittsburgh. In 25 years of coaching, Davie has been a part of teams that have compiled a combined record of 202-93-4. He has coached in 18 bowl games, including the Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Cotton Bowl. Davie has been hailed as a defensive mastermind; many of the units with which he was involved among his coaching stops still hold school and conference records.
  Lane Kiffin, USC,
TOPIC: "The USC Offense"
USC head football coach Lane Kiffin is regarded as one of the game’s brightest young coaches. He is the fourth youngest current FBS head coach; he already has been a head coach at football’s top levels, both professionally and collegiately. He is known for his high football IQ, as well as for being a master playcaller, a vibrant leader and a superb recruiter. The one-time Trojan offensive coordinator who then became the head coach of the Oakland Raiders and the Tennessee Volunteers returned to the USC program in January 2010, when he was named its head football coach. His first 2-year record at USC is 18-7. Only College Football Hall of Famers Howard Jones and John Robinson had more victories in their first 2 years as a Trojan head coach. Among Kiffin’s signature USC wins were road victories at Arizona, Notre Dame and Oregon.
  Dabo Swinney, Clemson    TOPIC: "TBD"
Dabo Swinney is the youngest head coach in the ACC and one of the youngest in the country. However, his resume is already stuffed with many significant accomplishments on a school, ACC and national level. His appointment to the position of interim head to replace his friend and mentor, Tommy Bowden was his position coach as a player and head coach at Clemson since 1999. Swinney led the Tigers to a 4-2 record over the remainder of the regular season including a victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks in the regular-season finale. That strong finish led to a Gator Bowl bid against Nebraska. In four years as the Tigers’ head coach, Swinney has directed Clemson to a 29-19 overall record and a 19-10 record in ACC regular-season games. He has also led the Tigers to the ACC Championship game twice, won one ACC title, and has been named national coach-of-the-year.
