Tom is one of the hottest young coaches in the nation having led his Houston Cougars into National Championship contention with less than 2 years of HC experience anywhere. He went 13-1 in 2015 in his 1st Cougar season finishing #8 in the nation after defeating FSU in the Peach Bowl. Then Houston routed #3 Oklahoma to open the season this year. Prior to his arrival at Houston, he helped develop record-setting and explosive offenses in each of his 10 seasons as an offensive coordinator, including three seasons as OC and QB’s coach at Ohio State where he helped the Buckeyes win the 2015 College Football Championship. Herman’s quarterbacks in 2014 ranked second nationally with a team passing efficiency rating of 167.72. Herman previously spent three years as the OC and QB’ss coach at Iowa State. Herman coached offenses at Rice, Texas State, Sam Houston, Texas and Texas Luthern.
