Kevin Sumlin was named head coach at Arizona in January of 2018. Sumlin previously served as head coach for the University of Houston and most recently, Texas A&M. At Houston, Sumlin led the cougars to a 35-17 record including a 12-1 record in 2011 when Houston remained ranked in the National Polls and was a finalist for the Bear Bryant award, recognizing the nation’s best college coach. During his six year tenure at Texas A&M, the Aggies went 51-26 and under his watch, Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel developed into the most exciting player in the country. Sumlin has previously served as an assistant at Washington State, Wyoming, Minnesota, Purdue, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.
